Game Notes
ANA
-Lukas Dostal will likely start for the Ducks
-The big storyline heading into this game will of course be whether the Leafs take an retribution towards Radko Gudas for his hit on Matthews 2.5 weeks ago. That got a little complicated after Gudas was injured in a game against Calgary a few days ago. He's already missed one game but Elliotte Friedman has reported that Gudas "wants to play no matter what" so we'll see where that goes
-The Ducks currently lead the Pacific division with a whopping 86 points. That would place them just outside of a playoff spot in the East
TOR
-Anthony Stolarz will likely start for the Leafs

Run and around and have a few fights. Take a few penalties. Lose 4-1
Run at Gudas, if he plays, on every play. If it's late, who cares, take the penalty. Ducks score on the PP, bonus. Keep doing it the whole game. Add in some lovely stick work and it will be a great night.

Nor should it. How stupid is it that players are expected to try to injure someone in a game.

What should have happened is the existence of a league where if you flagrantly injure someone, you sit out as many games as they do + hefty fine. Not this absurd "system" where it is up to George Parros to try to split the difference between owners and NHPLA.

Small note, this assumes that the PA is pushing for tougher suspensions, which I do not believe to be the case. Individual players may be voicing that concern, but the PA as a collective has and will likely continue to be against tougher suspensions since the player being punished is one of their own too. Ultimately they deserve just as much criticism for the current system as Bettman, the owners, and Parros.
