Game Notes
ANA
-Lukas Dostal will likely start for the Ducks
-Anaheim finds themselves at the top of the floundering Pacific division, 3 points ahead of Edmonton and Vegas with a game in hand. None of those teams of course would currently be in a playoff spot in the Eastern conference
-John Carlson has yet to make his Ducks debut after the surprising trade that sent him to Anaheim in the overnight hours before the trade deadline. He missed 4 games with Washington before the trade with a lower body injury but appears close to returning as he is travelling with the team on this road trip
TOR
-Anthony Stolarz will likely start for the Leafs

Leafs 27-38 on the season. But the coach soldiers on, because with that record why should they even think of replacing him?

Treliving is an ass. But Pelley is the biggest ass of all.

The soft argument is the tank is presently working. It's pretty clear that the Leafs aren't planning on doing a hard rebuild at this time. The only hope we should have for delaying a true rebuild is to luck into McKenna. I'm fine with keeping Berube's terrible system if the Leafs continue to bottom out. This is going to be entirely continent on that happening. You either successfully keep your pick or you just kept poisoning the well for nothing.

The only reason to turf Berube at this point is if the dressing room becomes overwhelmingly toxic (i.e. ruins Matthews re-signing, if we want that) and/or he doesn't play ball with building up the kids for the future.

There just seems to be an overwhelming paralysis. They seem terrified to do anything to the point it’s ended up as being worse doing virtually nothing

Lol amazing. I'm ready for a bit of entertainment.
He'll throw hits and fight. I'm not saying we should have called up Pezzetta back in November but I do think our "new and improved" bottom six was pretty fracking soft. I want some guys who can chip in goals but still deliver hits that grind down the opponents and Lorentz does not remotely do that.
