I have no idea what to expect tonight, last game was so crazy with the puck bounces and the 4th Panther goal, crazy and exciting game. Lol Can't wait for tonight, GO LEAFS!!

Im expecting a blow out.....like 3+ goal difference. Which way, no idea.

Either its Game 5 in the Ottawa series (milkcarton) or the Leafs get better goaltending and puck luck than what happened last game against the Panthers (and Leafs go back to TO up 3 to 1!).

Tonight’s game is brought to you by the letter ‘M’

For …. Mother’s Day…. Matthews , Marner, Matthew , McMann, McCabe, and Max (x2)

Go Leafs Go!!

I guess I'm hoping game 3 was Florida's best punch and fall flat today.

Hoping Woll steals this one with a great performance. He's capable.

GO LEAFS GO!!!

No idea either.

The Panthers really upped their forechecking and hitting (Verhaeghe is an animal), and the game still went to OT and it took another lucky bounce for them to win. So that can be viewed as a positive. The flip side is the Leaf defenders took a lot of punishment and that could start to take a toll. Still not clear whether Tanev was actually hurt or just had an equipment issue, but the ability of the Leaf defenders to deal with that pressure will be key.

Neither goalie has really stepped up and had that statement game yet. Will one of them do it tonight...maybe they both do and it turns out to be one of those 1-1 OT games.

Sure would be nice if Matthews and/or McMann can find the back of the net tonight.

I agree with MLHS: if the Leafs are going to win this series they'll need at least one game where Auston takes over and dominates. Trouble is, he hasn't done it all year. MLHS seems to attribute it to him being psyched out (they compared it to the yips) but I think it's physical in some weird way that isn't obvious. I hope he can. But....

The more I think about it, the more I lean to there having been an issue with his left hip. It would obviously have impacted his skating - which didn’t look as good for much of the season - and it’s the dude he’d put weight on when he shoots, which would also explain why his shot didn’t seem as heavy most of the year. If he had to rebuild the way he shot, that would also impact the accuracy of his shot. The rest seems to be getting back to normal, so the accuracy will hopefully come soon. It’s always the last to return.

Honestly, I disagree with this.

Toronto placed first in the Atlantic without a dominating Matthews. They beat Ottawa in a series where Matthews never dominated. They beat Panthers two games and took a third to OT where he never dominated.

Leafs can win this without a dominating performance from Matthews. And from my recollection, I have only seen one game in the past 7 years of playoffs where Matthews dominated. It was against Tampa where Leafs made a valiant comeback and won where 34 put on a cape. But aside from that he's been somewhere between mid to a dud. He sees a lot of top tier man to man coverage, and he just doesnt have what it takes to put on a cape for big games when the team needs him (based on historicals) and this season he's clearly injured.

So I don't expect him to dominate in any game this series....and the Leafs don't need it to win.

But they do need Woll to elevate. Stolarz stole one game (maybe two) in the Ottawa series. We need at least one game like that from Woll.

It's a fair argument. His faceoff work has been too good for it to be his wrist/hand.

Ya I think Woll is going to have to steal one. Don’t think we’ve seen Floridas best but can attribute that to Leafs being better than past years. Saw a TSN clip earlier today and Matthews was topic of conversation. Be nice to see him pot one. I took him in my fantasy team and also on a parlay to score so it’s happening book it.
