Its more that the Leafs wont play the "game".

First thing Rogers should have done last week is get in the leagues face about protecting players from cheap shots....especially to the head. And show what was done to Tampa and to Knies in 2023 and Tavares 30 days ago by Bennett.


They didn't do it. How do I know? Because nothing happened to Bennett.

Got to play the game..... not let the game play you.

Right, how many billion for the TV rights? Flex on these clowns. This would be less dirty than the on-ice antics.

Flex on these clowns with the Billions. Great Call.

I know some "royalty" in Vegas. They are a billionaire family that operate significant alcohol in the city/state and active in the Vegas hockey community.

They told me the Vegas Stanley Cup Victory "was written". Meaning the NHL pre-planned it for Vegas to win the Cup. (Which makes sense to me because they got to finals in first year if franchise and won everything within 6 years)

Rogers should get the NHL to write the Leafs into that position.
 
Positives about last night's game:

1. Leafs won!

2. Leafs totally dominated the first half (until Stolarz was taken out). If he had stayed in net....this could have been a 5 to 2 game.

3. Willy Styles semi-put the team on his back. Scoring in first 33 seconds set the tone for a win.

4. Knies is a beast

5. Rielly continues to elevate for playoffs

6. Pacioretty and McCabe had some nice hits

7. Leafs stayed disciplined (there were two joke penalties on Leafs)

8. Scotia Bank fans were pretty loud

9. Berube gave a strong presser

10. Home teams that win Game 1 of a 7 game series 75.1% of the time win the series. So Willy's first goal setting the stage for a Game 1 win is massive.
 
I thought the Leafs played really well game 1, until they didn't.

A lot of positives from game 1, for me, the main takeaways were Florida wasn't able to establish there grinding forecheck that they are known for. Bobrovsky looked beatable, which is nice. The Leafs were physical. They showed they can beat Florida. Now do it again!

I suspect that talk about Stolarz starting tonight is gamesmanship more than anything else. While it does sound like it might not be as serious as it initially seemed, I can't imagine he goes back in until game 3 at the earliest.
