Eh, I blame Woll more there. The Leafs were skated around the defensive zone and did a good job keeping the Islanders to the outside. Woll should have smothered that one instead he forced the puck to keep play going and the Leafs were exhausted and needed a change. Domi was trying to get away and get guys off the ice but the Islanders were still close enough to pressure Domi. Not a great decision by him but a far worse one by Woll.

There was absolutely nothing wrong with what Woll did there.. Domi had zero pressure and could have easily dropped the puck back. He f'd up.

Not a f'n chance. Get real. Don't be blaming Woll for Domi's inexcusable play and 44's dogshit performance
 
Morgan Rielly - on the ice for 2 short handed goals against, 4 PP goals against and 54 even strength goals against. That's 43.7% of the goals against the Leafs this year.
 
Both Domi and Rielly should not have been out there in the OT let alone play together. But what is maddening/inexplicable is the consistency of bad decision making by 44. There was NO reason to drift away from the front of the net and leave Schaefer alone. And he is noticeably slower this past year and a half which contributes to his bad defensive play. But Berube played him over 27 minutes tonight even though he was the worst defenceman. So bad on so many different levels.

Players know when they have bad games. Coaches will talk to them and video analyze the hell out of it.

There is no value in sewering a respected teammate through the media. Then you get DeBoer losing the whole dressing room.

Rielly is at his best when he is driving play up ice and confident in his puck play. His rush defense was never properly developed (thanks Burke/Wilson) so they just have to coach around it.
 
Rielly is -14 on the season and leads the league in EV goals against. That's not a good thing. Leafs seriously need to cut his minutes way back or lose him.

Ya this isn't just one bad game.
 
Here's a stat that drives me crazy. The RoyRobCow line was our best statistically last night and guess who had the least amount of minutes? It went Jarnkrok, Roy, Cowan, Robertson,(12:02). At 5v5 Robertson played the least amount at 10:24 along with Roy and Jarnkrok. I don't get not going with the players that are having a good game.

I enjoy this forum (and thread, in particular) because there is some great banter, analysis and discussions on here. But your petulant replies to anyone who directs but the smallest of criticisms towards Woll is really getting tiresome. It's a forum, people are allowed to disagree. Grow up.

I mean I did recommend trading him instead of extending him several years ago, but it’s a tricky one (and even trickier now).

There’s just no gain from throwing out quotes to make fans feel vindicated while demotivating an underperforming key player.
