He did fight the Gudas. I don't know who else would have. His skill set in absolute shit, but if we're not going to be competitive, I don't mind him on the team.
 
He’d probably be a decent start them in the offensive zone against the other teams bottom line or two so you can overmatch them 3rd line winger.

But he’s paid way too much for that.

He was just doing his friend a favour by getting Domi off a sinking ship. I don't expect a move here on Domi, even though it really is necessary.

The roster is slated to have Domi, Cowan, and McKenna: all zippy passy little LWs of some flavour. And that's before considering that Robertson and Maccelli are RFA (granted, Robertson is likely trading out, and Maccelli's qualifying offer is cost-prohibitive) and none of them have any PK value other than maybe Cowan. It was already too many ZLWs last season, and way too many on paper at this time, and it's a niche that is oversaturated on the market and of limited trade value, other than McKenna and Cowan to some degree.

Meh. I don't care. He's otherwise useless. I can't stand him.

In other news it sounds like Shane Doan is out.
 
So Edmonton is trying to talk to Cassidy and hasn't fired their own head coach.

So things are just as stable there as they are here it seems.

I hate that this is a thing. Keeping a bad asset only to fire it after it makes your team worse shouldn't be viewed like this. Like I get it if you have a successful coach and they fire them after the team underperforms despite past success but Berube's metrics are all terrible. Keeping him to only fire him after they ruined the season should be viewed as a negative and not a mulligan

I get the concept but we don't have room to be be bad again next year. Even if you draft McKenna, trade Matthews, Nylander and set us back 10 years. And with 2 own traded unprotect 1st rounders in the next 2 years.

No, we need a change and we need now. Berube style is not working.

I don't understand how captain data Chayka could even remotely entertain the notion of keeping Berube around.

All I keep hearing is how charming he is and how everyone just loves him. Really?
