I know realistically that they aren't likely to fire Bérubé in the middle of a back to back but this team sitting around and doing nothing is just an extension of how little this franchise cares about it fanbase. They insult us while gouging prices year over year.

We overpay for middling players.

I like Scott Laughton. He provides more than offense. He has 5 goals and 3 assists in 36 regular season games with the Leafs. Fraser Minten has 6 goals and 7 assists with the Bruins.
The players are just there. They are flat. Even in the playoffs. The coach is stubborn and forces his ineffective system down our throats. Management throws assets in the trash. And the ownership sits back and their big contribution is ticket price hikes and price locked fan access on their social media app

I honestly thought this team could rebound,
especially after the last road trip where they seem to be putting it together. Now I’m pretty certain that was just wishful thinking. It looks like a race to the bottom.

Having said that , they’ll probably win tonight to reel back in the faithful. But without major changes this squad will be in limbo and in complete disarray …with no lifeboat .

I found the loss last night harder to take. They played better than the Washington game but that isn't saying much.
In recent years gone by, they would often struggle against the bottom feeders while upping their game to play the better teams.
I don't have that feeling with this game.
Something seems terribly wrong.
If they lose tonight, they'll need to play better than last years 108 pt team the rest of the way to pass New Jersey on pace for 96 points for the last wild card spot.
They're digging themselves a deep hole.
I expected better from them this season.

Same here - I think the entire group, from the coaching staff through the players, is so screwed up right now that there is almost no chance for that type of response. I didn't watch the game last night, but might tune in tonight just to see what may be the final game of the Berube era.

I haven't watched a complete game all year and basically haven't even watched the last 3-4 games. Had enough of the crap play. Matthews and Nylander have disappeared. I didn't watch the Capitals game but read Matthews and Berube calling out the team. Just curious wtf did Matthews do that game? He's the last person to talk because he's been dogshit all season.
