I've come around to the belief that this is a blow-it-up situation. How do you retool this roster especially with the lack of young impact players in the system. Retooling probably just means a couple more years of mediocre hockey before it completely collapses, so might as well start now.

Rather have him than Matthews. Both can disappear but never cared for Matthews demeanour. My opinion Nylander is the more talented of the two. Get rid of both whatever start a complete rebuild. Said before this team was ruined and now it's going to be some tough sledding for a while.

Thats what you get when you keep trading picks and assets for garbage knowing full well this team in the past wasn't winning anything.

The core gets one more shot with a coach who doesn’t absolutely suck the life out of the game - especially considering they don’t have their own 1st rounder in two of the next three drafts. Blowing it up more just means giving Philly and Boston great picks.
 
Woll should work his way down the bench during the TV timeout and high stick every one of them and save the biggest whack for Berube.

I'm ok with selling whatever is sellable right now, then change out the GM and coach (maybe get rid of the coach tonight and see how players respond), and try to retool with a new system next year. But I'd also be ok with basically anyone being traded ASAP, including Matthews or Nylander. I'd want to keep Knies probably.

I don't care about those draft picks - sunk cost, can't worry about it. But I'd be ok with a new GM/coach before completely blowing it up.
 
I genuinely want to see the core players with a coach who isn't a possession terrorist.

The defensive system collapses. The defense can't make passes. The system encourages dump and chase even though we are only dump once the team is exhausted and can't chase.

I want a sell job at the deadline but I'd give this team one more chance next year to prove they aren't done. We won't have our draft pick next year. There is no urgency to concede next year
