Capitals vs. Leafs - Dec. 18th, 7:00pm - SN

Part of me doesn't want them to fire Berube because truthfully I don't think this team deserves a get out of jail free card.

Are the picks not protected? I don’t know how things work when you default a pick to the following year. If they are both protected how does that work if you pick in the top 5 of the draft?
I don't know about 2027, but 2026 is top five protected, but you can tank and draft 6th easy. More thank you Toronto chants from Boston. They won't do that.

26 is top 5 protected, 27 is top 10 protected. WTF was Tre thinking not having 26s top 10 protected?

The 2026 one is top 5 protected. Not sure about the other one.
The 2027 is top 10 protected. If either pick stays with the Leafs it automatically turns the next pick or two into sure things.

For example, if the Leafs pick in the top 5 this year, the Bruins get next year's and Philly gets the year after that.

I've been trying to think of its better to give the Bruins this year's and just start to get this mess over with, or try and get the high pick this year to try and retool on the fly and hop that the influx of a high pick this year along with a Danford and a surprise or two next year puts them in a better spot.

They'll retool on the fly before tearing it all the way down.

Go to hell. This teams effort on the PK there was atrocious. Hildeby should be getting Matthews salary

Rielly dumps the puck in while Knies is still well offside guaranteeing Washington possession....they all suck. They all need to go away

I don't think we can do that with aging players and a declining Matthews. Limbo this year, trade assets for prospects and picks next year, tank, and restart the whole thing. Be competitive in 2030.
