Front Office is very high on Cowan and Danford’s potential.
I am also not interested in trading Easton Cowan.

Dakota Joshua and his $3.25M has been on LTIR
He played his first conditioning game for the Marlies Sunday.
Normally, he is allowed 2 more (Wed 21st & Sat 24th)
They could request an extension for 2 more games which would take him to Fri Oct 30th
Probably by next Sunday, the Leafs may have to make some decision on how they're going to add Joshua to the roster.
I do not think it will be a major issue in terms of cap space or a roster spot at that time.
Joshua quietly had the 3rd highest goals per 60 minutes rate on the team last season at 5-on-5. He had as many 5-on-5 goals as Knies did but in 24 less games (and of course with significantly worse linemates). He probably won't keep shooting 20%, especially if he's on the 4th line now, but should at least be a clear upgrade over MacEwen.I'm quite interested in what Joshua could bring to the roster.
That's kind of where a bit of deadweight could be cleared for a more cap efficient player. Don't know how you do it but I'd love to get his cap hit off the books for an equally paid defenseman.Joshua quietly had the 3rd highest goals per 60 minutes rate on the team last season at 5-on-5. The return for Danford and COL's 1st would be what? 3-5 D man? Our trade asset of value was spent for a marginal gain on the W. Not great asset management, in my opinion.
DET will not make that trade. If that was the return for Simon Edvinsson I don't think that'd be unreasonable.

Do we need to be marginally better at W, or would you rather be better at D?And yet, you think Knies would/should have fetched someone like Edvinsson?

I don't know if this has been mentioned, but Keefe has scratched Dillon for 3 straight games now. Expiring deal at $4m cap hit.
Matthews is doing it as he previously did: winning faceoffs and playing good two way hockey. He's not goal sucking to get his points.I think the biggest question has at least been answered.
This team was going absolutely nowhere without Matthew regaining his MVP calibre play. He's on pace for 59G 75A.
Raddysh had a tough time making it to the NHL because of his poor skating. He's still not a great skater and you wouldn't expect him to be with that history. But he's better than I thought. He's learned to contribute with that limitation. Generally, he's been positionally careful. (I've held my breath when he's ventured into the o-zone below the goal line..) His coach seems to have recognized his ability or increased his confidence in his ability as he logged a lot of ice time with McCabe protecting the lead last night.I think Raddysh has actually been better than advertised to be honest. He's not great defensively but he's been solid and while the offense hasn't really been there just yet, he has managed to eek out .5 PPG. The team needs to get him engaged more in the PP. I think someone needs to come off PP1 so the Leafs play less along the half boards. Nothing is really opening up the defense for blasts from the point. It kind of makes sense that the Leafs aren't sure how to play like that seeing as we haven't had anyone who can do that consistently in the last decade.
