Although I liked McCabe, it sounds like the fans actually accomplished something by giving him a reason to waive in NMC. Not that the return really helped. Van Ryan's injury history caught up with him immediately after the trade to Toronto.

Too bad Mats never got a cup. When you hear people talk about him, it sounds like he did all the right things to bring a team together. Probably why it felt like those Leaf teams were always punching above their weight class.
