Can someone explain to me why they shot Kampf out of a canon? How could he not be useful at this point? I don’t get why Berube dislikes him so much. He’s strong and defensively responsible. Isn’t that what Berube wants?
Don't see why not. It'll cost them nothing and he has put up some decent numbers in the past. And he's only 24. Doesn't work, waive him.Ooh, can we get Tomasino… (Jack Roslovic lite)
First game back, his team gets lit up and he's a -3. Maybe Treliving/Berube are geniuses.Leafs clearly didn't want Kampf anymore. Berube played him in 1 game last playoffs.
Start this year, Laughton goes down, nothing....Laughton goes down again, nothing. Now Roy goes down and they need a 3C, Kampf isn't it. I think they're calling up Quillan with both Roy and Matthews out because they need some offense and he is the best option for 3C.
Kampf may have cost himself some cash next year but sitting in the minors with that contract will probably cost him more in the long run. Stay in the minors too long, especially a defense first guy and you get forgotten real fast so he's betting on himself and will be a UFA in a lousy market. Who knows how it'll turn out for him. Hey he made himself an extra 50K this year with his 1.35M signing bonus. Anyway, good luck to him.
What I’m trying to figure out is why did it get to that point? Why can domi skate around out there like an idiot, play no defence at all, but he’s a valued member of the team, but Kapmpf is seen as useless?Leafs clearly didn't want Kampf anymore. Berube played him in 1 game last playoffs.

I have no idea. Many on here figured Kampf would be in when Laughton got hurt and the same people don't want to see Domi at centre. What I’m trying to figure out is why did it get to that point? Look I get he’s he 4th line guy and nothing more, and I’m not losing sleep over it, I just don’t get why he was treated like a piece of trash.
I think that after every Leafs loss, they should have a help line that you can phone, and it's just William Nylander telling you that things are going to be fine. I watched his post game last night. I don't know if he has a pulse.
What did you see on your first goal?
Awww...Snipe. Actually, I don't know what I was thinking there. Mostly reactionary.
What did you say to Woll?
I said Sorry. He said it's okay. I said thanks.
Just amazing stuff.
And he has a 14 game point streak, which tells you pts aren't everything. I think most of us are hoping he takes that next step on his effort game in game out and on the other side of the puck. I think he's at minimum top 5 in talent and if he took that step, he'd be in the MVP conversation, easily. The Nylander aloof comments carry a lot more weight when he is dominating on the ice. I don't know if he's playing hurt or just in a slump but even with his OT winner last night this has been a stretch of pretty uninspiring play overall.
Expecting him to dominate games on both ends of the ice is probably unrealistic at this point in his career. But we really haven't had many of those games where he ends up with 2-3 breakaways and just skates circles around the offensive zone where no-one can come close to knocking the puck off his stick. And he has a 14 game point streak, which tells you pts aren't everything. I don't know what is up with him. Yes, his 14 games is really nice. But the flat footed attack isn't going to win many races and the slamming sticks off the glass out of frustration doesn't exactly scream "leader". Actually the slapping glass with the hockey stick is even more concerning. What's he pissed at? Himself? The lack of talent he's playing with? The system be deployed? The Nylander aloof comments carry a lot more weight when he is dominating on the ice.
