First preseason game of the year, with the Leafs expected to ice a heavy NHL roster including Bobrovsky starting in net. McKenna is also expected to make his Leafs preseason debut.

Of course the other half of the Leafs training camp roster will be in Montreal (with Daniel Alfredsson serving as head coach) at the same time going up against the other half of Montreal's training camp roster.

Rules say the team needs to ice eight players with a minimum 100 NHL games played.

They will play their NHL heavy teams at home for their fans, so that’s the expectation, which is not too different than when the games were held on different nights.

EDIT: a player who played 30 NHL games the previous season also counts as a veteran - even if they have not played 100 NHL games. Ditto for goalies or goalies who also backed up during 50 games last season.

Veterans are only allowed to play 2 games. So Stolarz could be a 7th for the Marlies to get two full games in. I didn't see anyone else on the Marlies who qualified with 30 NHL games last season. Since only 20 players can play in a preseason game, 1 of 3 from the 23 man NHL roster would be able to play for the Marlies squad to get the 8th veteran
