Game Notes
BUF
-Alex Lyon will likely start for the Sabres
-Do not adjust your television sets folks: the Sabres are 29-6-2 since December 9th and currently find themselves at the top of the Atlantic division
TOR
-Anthony Stolarz will likely start for the Leafs
-The Leafs will of course be without Auston Matthews for the rest of the season
-It's unknown how Berube will work his lines without Matthews, I'm making some educated guesses with the forward trios and assuming Joshua and Lorentz get back into the line-up

Just thinking hypothetically. Let's say the Leafs sign TJ Hughes (or another College Free agent). Does that count against their 5 AHL callups?

Not unless they send him to the AHL first. He's eligible to play in the NHL right away.

Found this when trying to confirm....

Not a "Call-Up": A call-up implies a player is already under contract within the organization (e.g., in the AHL) and is moved to the NHL. Signing a free agent or a drafted player directly from college is a direct pro-contract entry.

When did Stolarz play last? It’s like Woll is in every game*

* granted I’m really not paying much attention anymore

We had our one moment of life after the Matthews injury. I suspect the Leafs will go all out on the 30th in the revenge game. I'm not convinced they will win any other games this year.

Meanwhile Winnipeg beat Colorado 3-1 and New York is up 4-1 on Minnesota. A decent chance the Leafs will be 3 points out of 4th after tonight.
