Brutal. He was at the Leafs game so recently I didn't think it would be this sudden. Feel bad for him and his family. What an awful disease.

RIP to one of our real legends. He was before my time but the way people like my dad talked about him was all I needed to know.

RIP Borje, you are my all time favourite Leaf. I am happy you lived long enough to be honoured at your second home, it was a few nights I will never forget.

Incredibly sad. Really glad he got to get to the game the other night. And I?m sure his family will also be thankful of that memory.

So nice that he got a last hurrah.

It's just as well that he didn't have to suffer any more.

As the good book says, we know neither the day, nor the hour.

Oh damnit.  I'm so sorry to hear this.  I felt overwhelmed by his appearances last week.  I remember watching him dangle through three Sabres to score the Leafs' lone goal in a 3-1 loss at the Aud in Buffalo.  Must have been around 1985.

My dad suffered from Parkinson's and Lewy Body dementia before his passing.  I saw a lot of my dad in Borje, and I'm sorry that he suffered with such a debilitating disease.  God bless you, Borje.

I?m stuck for words right now but Highlander says it well. It?s tough when your hero passes away but comforting to know he knew he was so beloved.  It?s also very gratifying in this day and age that he truly was as great a person as we all thought. RIP Borje.

I met Borje once at the 2004 World Cup of Hockey at the ACC. Super gracious and posed for a photo I took. Amazing Guy that will be greatly missed!

RIP Mr. Salming.

I have no idea why I chose to rewatch the 2 ceremonies with Borje.

It just makes me too emotional.

I?m old enough to have fully seen him come to the Leafs, his greatness and his legacy, and I?m forever grateful to him for all he did, and for all he was.

I recorded the two games with the Borje ceremonies just because of him and the emotion then was too much. Seeing Sittler would be much harder now.

I remember being around 15 or something and going by a Toronto Sun Box. They had a huge picture on the front page of the time Salming's face was cut by a skate and he needed over 250 stitches. The guy was tough as nails.

Man, seeing these these guys go from my youth is depressing. It all goes too fast.

RIP
