I am just pissed that one of these two teams will surpass what the Leafs have done in the Matthews era.

I was at the last conference final game the Leafs played in versus Carolina: Sundin scored with the goalie pulled, and I literally felt the ground shake under my feet. Then Martin Gelinas scored in OT, and the place went deathly silent, and you could hear every woop and holar from the Cane players.

I find it funny how vehemently Buffalo has argued against a couple of these penalty calls tonight - a pretty obvious goalie interference call and a pretty obvious high stick. Habs a great start to the 2nd period but Buffalo has slowly started taking over the game again before the latest PP.

That penalty for the trip on Caufield was weak. Pretty good game tho.

Montreal won as many series this year (after rebuilding their team from the 2021 Stanley Cup run) as the Leafs in 10yrs. What an indictment.

Man the Habs really annoy me. They don't have nearly the top-end talent that the Leafs had with the years of Matthews/Marner/Nylander, yet the Leafs could never get past the 2nd round and Habs just get to the conference finals their first or 2nd try with this core. I hate this market.

Like in 2021 when the Leafs faced a team that got into the playoffs with a sub .500 actual record and still lost?
That's the only year that is a complete embarrassment and inexcusable. For me anyway. Yet that team still made it to the finals.

As Leaf fans we may not like it, but you have to give the Canadiens credit as an organization. Their entire first line (which they drafted themselves) cost under $24 million.

Say what you want, but the Habs beat 2 teams ahead of them in the standings with 106 and 109 points respectively. Not as if the Leafs had to play hard opponents and the Habs just got the dregs of the league in this run.

You know what I forgot they played the lightning. I guess I had Vegas on my mind. And they really looked unimpressive against buffalo.

And it doesn't bother me to give mtl credit. They did their rebuild right.
