I've been thinking about this recently, and have come to a similar conclusion. Pridham isn't bad at his job - if he was, he wouldn't have lasted as long as he did - but he's no longer someone who can be considered ahead of the class when it comes to understanding the CBA. If he was, why were other teams always the first to find loopholes like deferred payments to bring down cap hits? He'll land another role and be alright in it - he's definitely good at taking advantage of what others have figured out - but his reputation certainly doesn't line up with his results.Have in mind, Cowan wasn't allowed to play in the AHL during the Olympic break because someone in the front office misunderstood (or negligently overlooked) the games-played limit of the CBA in regards to two-way players last year.... by a single game.
If the person on the team in charge of understanding the CBA fully was best-in-class (as many seem to think, based on Pridham's reputation) they would have made sure this didn't happen.
