I would imagine they were probably able to pay this fine with the loose change in Polak's car. And the Leafs probably made it clear they weren't actually upset with the two considering the circumstances. I think that there are certain rules that pretty much force the team into giving these fines when rules are broken.

I also swear I read somewhere that fines paid to the team go into some sort of communal team fund that gets used towards some team event or something in the future.  Can't find where I read that right now though.

I didnt think Mercs or Bimmers got flat tires. and strong lads like these boys should be able to fix a tire in 5 minites. Polak can turn the lug nuts while Cody holds the car up. Come on!

The problem was neither of them could make a spare tire materialize out of thin air.

Also I only half read your post at first so I originally though that Mercs and Bimmers were your new nicknames for Franson and Polak.

See.  I have no trouble with fines with no reason but a flat tire is an unexpected thing.  If it's some chump change thing, whatever, but this whole wear a suit, conform stuff annoys me.  If I can work in the Emergency department as your doctor wearing a scrub top and blue jeans I think it's just downright silly that they wear suits to and from literally every single hockey related event.
