Hurricanes @ Leafs - Nov. 9th, 7:00pm - TSN4

Unfortunately, Tanev is almost 36 and has taken a lot of abuse over the years. He wasn't playing great before the injuries. It's quite possible he won't ever be as effective as he was last year and that is a HUGE problem for this team.
I've always liked Tanev and there were rumors of him coming to Toronto on and off over the years. I didn't want him here back then not because of his ability but because he was always hurt. He never played a full season until 2021-2. The last few years or so he's been pretty good. Amazing how much worse we look without him though.

Not so sure, Marner is sitting 24th in points right now, and Matthews is 59th, I think Matthews and Marner had something that lifted both of them and now they are a apart neither are playing as well as they could. And lets see what happens to Marner in the playoffs.
Matthews' current ppg puts him on pace for his worst scoring season since his rookie season. Matthews looks like a shell of himself.

Marner's current ppg puts him on pace for his best scoring season - 106 pt pace. He's leading the team in +.- because there have not been many goals scored against him while he is on the ice. Changed teams, same player and unlike Matthews, doing just fine. Over his 9 seasons as a Leaf, Marner was the Leafs leading playoff scorer. That might be tough to do with Eichel this year but he outscored Matthews, Nylander & Tavares in the playoffs.
