If the Leafs were in a similar position to a team like the Rangers or the Blues, where a Johansen could be the last piece they need to win the Cup, that would be one thing, but, outside of that type of scenario, the asking price isn't going to equal the return.

Seguin might have been available for a stupid reasons but it doesn't mean he came at a discount. If your point is that players like Johansen can, in addition to fetching top prospects, also fetch all-star quality forwards who have accomplished more than the player they're being traded for...well, that's technically true but entirely irrelevant to the discussion because the Leafs don't have anyone like that.

You got that wrong, I get the info. from my "Mystifying Orifice" 
But I did get the Babs thing right from about a year or more before the signing.
Acutally not so sure about Stammer and what will be his big budget demands.
