Game Notes
VAN
-Thatcher Demko will likely start for the Canucks
-Vancouver had a short hot streak after trading superstar defenceman Quinn Hughes to the Wild as they immediately won 4 straight games. They've since gone 1-5-2 in 8 games though, a stretch that has dropped them to 32nd in the standings
-Former Leaf David Kampf hasn't exactly proven that the Leafs were wrong for jettisoning him to the AHL. He has 2 goals and 3 points in 22 games with the Canucks since signing with them earlier this season. He's also often been forced to play higher in the line-up than anticipated with multiple injuries to centres
-Yes, that's 3 different Pettersson's in the line-up. No, none of them are related
TOR
-Joseph Woll will likely start for the Leafs
-All eyes will be on William Nylander during the morning skate before the game as it appears like the winger will possibly be an option to come off the IR Saturday
Streams

Not a particularly fair outcome for McMann to accommodate Nylander’s return.
I'll say
On the season for McMann, among forwards:
5th in points
4th in goals
3rd in +/-
3rd in hits and hits/60

Last 10, among forwards
5G 4A 9Pts +4
2nd in goals, points, 4th in +/-
2nd (tie) in hits
3rd in blocked shots
1st in takeaways and takeaways/60

In our Man of the Match over the last 10 games
1 Man of the match
2 Honorable Mentions
3 Accolades

Tried to look on naturalstattrick but the data wasn't right.
That gets him the 4th line?

Maybe $1.35 mil/yr is too much [/sarcasm]

Nylander is back (a great thing)....so Bérubé messes up the entire lineup. This reeks of Laughton being hurt and us immediately skewering the entire lineup and forcing Domi at centre for 15 games

Why is McMann getting demoted? And what's with the D? Play Stecher/McCabe and OEL/Benning to keep him on his natural side.
That 3rd line has been going pretty well and Cowan got the OT goal so maybe they don't want to smack that gained confidence.
The way Laughton has been playing lately, he might be able to make some more trouble with McMann - a bit of a reward for Laughton.
I doubt McMann will be on the 4th line for long or they'll roll two 3rd lines in terms of ice time - something like that.
I'm not too bent out of shape over it.
I'm with you on the Stecher/McCabe duo. If it ain't broke ...

I get not touching the Roybbits line. Their minutes were more like 4th liners anyway, and Laughton is getting heavy checking duties. Of the moving parts, McMann is the most suitable for that role, and can make good on some of the opportunities Laughton cooks up.

I think McCabe is still a game time decision, so it sort of makes sense to get Stecher ready to bail out Benoit off the hop. If McCabe can’t go, hopefully we see OEL-Benning
