2026 Blue Jays

Guerrero can't be a 500 million dollar singles hitter

I think we see this every year with Vladdy early in the season, he drives balls into the ground. He'll get his launch angle up and will start hitting home runs. He needs to improve on the 23 he hit last season.

Swing decisions are a real problem with the roster right now. I don't like how the team is playing and it's showing with their poor results so far. The American League is bad right now that is our only saving grace but the Yankees and once again the nonsense Rays where they sell off and have nobodies dominate the second they get to the Majors are creating a wide gap.

Springer regressing is a problem because they didn't bother to replace the cumulate bat of over performance, Springer's fluke season and losing Bo.

Vlad needs to step up. The slow starts need to stop from him. The ground ball to end the 8th was so predictable from him.

Springer has regressed. Barger is apparently made of glass. Okamoto is currently the only qualified hitter with an OPS over .800

This is a frustrating team.

Gerritt Cole is getting closer to returning for the Yankees. Tampa is on yet another "we did nothing to actually improve our team but we are dominant anyway" season. They aren't going to be in the division race by June at this rate.

I know Tucker isn't having a crazy start to his season in LA but it's glaring how much this roster needed to add another bat

The Jays were really squinting and hoping Barger was going to give them 25-30 home runs and be that needed bat once they missed out on Tucker. It's frustrating to have gotten basically nothing from Santander after he hit 44 bombs in his last year before free agency. The move to bring in Jesús Sánchez hasn't really worked.

I wonder if Vlad needs to change his approach and sacrifice some base hit potential with driving some balls to the outfield. That being said, this team really misses Kirk.

Was at the game last night. Been to a couple now following the renovations.

Am I the only one (still) not a huge fan of the new configurations? The social areas are certainly much better and make for a better lax, hanging out viewing experience for those there to do so. But I'm not a fan of the dark seat colours, the bullpens now force fans further away from the action (same with the TD premium seats behind home plate), and there is literally no foul area down the lines. Not to mention the concession corridor/hallway areas are congested.

Nonetheless, they were still necessary changes to make the stadium more modern considering it is in the perfect location and will be there for many more years/decades to come.

Random musing.

And I felt slightly queasy after so few. Not sure how others hammered back multiples of that. 🤢
Same here. I had 3 last night and had enough. My son and nephew had 6 each. You know what we did though - we brought our own condiments with us, that way we don't have to fight with those stupid packets.

Anyway - about the renos, personally I like them. Having been going to the Skydome since day 1, I appreciate the work to make it feel less like an indoor parking garage. Just look back at how it used to look - all concrete and big blue walls.

It's kinda the best you can do without tearing it down and starting over.

Don't think the Loonie Dog nights are the most well thought out considering the huge lineups forcing people to miss half/full innings worth. There's certainly got to be a better system. 🤷‍♂️

Don't get me wrong...the renos were very much necessary and have certainly made the Dome a fun place to go to watch a game than feeling like you're in a cavernous concrete slab. Do miss the days though where the seats in the outfield all around were so close to the action, and in some areas literally on top. Straightaway centre the seats were literally in front of the wall -- it's where I was tossed my first ball too. Now they made way for the television bays. And don't get me started with the advertisements crammed on every piece of open space that was available. Such an eyesore.
