Vegas bails out Treliving from yet another mistake
They are cap exempt.I cannot figure out Vegas' cap situation.

Yeah, them and Tampa. They are cap exempt.
Using Puckpedia I can take everyone off the LTIR/IR (except Pietrangelo) and get a 22 or 23 man roster under the cap depending on who you demote. With everyone healthy (Not Pietrangelo) they are something like $4m over the cap.
Well I would have rather traded a 1st and Minten last year for Andersson with retention than Carlo. And I'm sure the Leafs would have too but Calgary's owner is still being petty for no reason. Obviously now this is without an extra year on his deal, but at the very least he was going to net a 1st round draft pick or prospect equivalent. A 2nd rounder on top of that is probably mostly fair, and obviously it eventually turns into a 1st I doubt Vegas would be complaining. Is Andersson really that good/worth trading for? Seems like a lot to give up.

It's possible you have Pietrangelo in the regular LTIR slot, not the season-ending LTIR slot because that shows them about $4mil over the cap like you said. The new rules mean that would provide only about $3.8mil in relief instead of the full cap hit.
