If I were a coach looking for that extra point, I'd have been livid.  That said, pretty creative and almost scored

It was a pretty creative move which hes done this year in the AHL apparently but shootouts should be extended to 5 shooters in my opinion. Half the time only 2 shooters from each team go and its done, 65 mins of hard played effort over in 2 min.

Completely agree.  I've thought this since they were introduced to the league.

I don't know, is it really all that different from some of the moves Grabs has done?  (beyond the fact that Grabs scored his, while this guy didn't)

I don't see anything all that wrong with it.

I don't think so. I think that like other moves you could criticize for being "cocky" or what have you like some of the things Ribeiro's done or the Datsyuk goal where he flipped it over the goalie or even Malik's famous between the legs goal it's all about doing the unexpected/sideshow stuff to get a goalie off his game.

I hate it.  He disrespected the time honoured tradition of the shootout.  He really should have just shot it high and wide like everyone else.

Well put.

I think he should try it again, but instead, as he gets close to the goalie, put the blade back down on the ice and take a shot high.  He might surprise a goalie who thinks he knows what's coming.
