Game Notes
BUF
-Ukko-Pekka Luukonen will likely start for the Sabres
-Against all odds (being the Sabres) Buffalo finds themselves in a playoff spot almost two-thirds into the season. They're currently 3rd in the Atlantic, although Montreal and Boston are both behind them with the same amount of points
TOR
-Joseph Woll will start for the Leafs

Hopefully the Leafs are not in for a night of Tuch love. I have a pickup game at 9:00 tonight, so I will be missing most if not all of this game.

Their roster isn't that bad. There defense is quite good. I think they just put it all together. Lots of first rounders on this team, with two d-men who were drafted 1st overall.
They definitely aren't a bad team, just I didn't expect better than the Leafs good.

I think that is more about the Leafs being bad than the Sabres being good. So much parity, but I also think that stuff has gone sideways quite a bit for the Leafs this year. Good in a way though if it lets the Leafs do a bit of a mini-reset.

If we lose this game, Leafs are not making the playoffs. Book it.
It currently 'calculates' that if they lose in regulation tonight, they would need to play .707 hockey the rest of the way to get the 98 points projected as needed for the last wild card berth. Not impossible but it is getting increasingly grim/unlikely.

I suspect Treliving has one hail Mary trade left in him to titillate the fans ... He's got to be feeling the heat desperately searching for the DNA that has eluded him his entire hockey career.

Treliving does have some cap space to make one significant move.

Can’t wait for the new guy to come in in the summer and try and undo whatever Trelivings Hail Mary might be. While handcuffed to some untradeable behemoth contract overpayment to a mediocre non-fit on this roster. Which needs overhauled cos it has no identity or style anyway.

Can I like this 100x, or piled high like a double Club Sandwich? Because I would/do.
