Leafs Acquired Raddysh [8 years, $8.5mil AAV]

Time sync'd to the forums right around here at page 29 and on
Oh Man, flashbacks of Frattin losing that breakaway to make it 5-1, just to see the Bruins cameback...

Going into fetal position for a while...

Maybe Rielly?
That's the heavy rumour BUT so far the media has missed on everything until it's actually happened. In Chayka's presser today he mentioned they value being able to keep information internal and it gives them an advantage while doing their job. So that said, who knows if Rielly will actually get moved, could be all speculation by the media for all we know.

You know that Chayka is now definitely not in a position of power for moving Rielly. A good GM would have been looking for the next Raddysh instead of buying high on this guy. Seems like we are going back to the old regime of offering no-move long term contracts that absolutely wont age well. Did Carolina not teach us a lesson that wise spending is key for building a cup contender? It would almost be refreshing if ownership treated this franchise like more of a small market team where you were a little more frugal and saved some cap space while waiting to spend only when you truly knew you were close. Canes end up winning cup 13 million under cap.

I'm not 100% sure. There are almost no decent left shot D available in free agency. Rielly is still a good player. I could see a GM thinking a change of scenery might unlock more from him.

I'm not saying the return will be huge, but I do think Rielly could return a useful part.

I feel that's what they did with the Woll trade. I think they looked at the advanced stats and think there is more to Andrae's game. I don't know for sure that was the thinking, but from the outside looking in, that's what it looks like.
