Also forces one of them to play on their off-wing, which isn't really optimal.

Tavares' line has two lefties on the wing, just make a swap there.

Honestly it keeps happening with most lines Kapanen goes on.  Nylander is responsible for his turnovers but Kapanen does not help lines get going

They point out a Nylander giveaway.  Two consecutive pass attempts by Muzzin lead to Carolina scoring chances and a goal.  No comment from our broadcasters

It's not just the giveaway. It's the giveaways, the lack of effort. His overall game has been brutal. He has the skates and talent to be dominant. He may not have the mindset. There's a reason he was demoted.
