Where are the doods who use to call out Jonas for "going down too early and not knowing where his posts are"? I did see some criticism but holy hell does Reimer get the benefit by comparison.

They probably left after Jonas finally started playing consistent hockey. And after Reimer's consecutive goaltending clinic games, you're probably not going to hear alot of criticism. Fairly simple really.

When he was playing well I saw comments like that.

Anywho, I just find it funny how Reimer, who has not had that many great games this year, gets the benefit of the doubt from some and Jonas was their goat for sooooo long.

That's cause Reimer has carried the Leafs for a far longer stretch than Jonas ever has, and Reimer hasn't had a prolonged period of poor play.

To me that doesn't justify some of the criticisms I remember reading, fwiw.

So I read on one of the newspapers that Toronto is 10 - 0 when going into the 3rd with a lead. That might be the one of the biggest differences (statistically or otherwise) from last season. With Giguere (spelling) and Gustavsen (spelling2) in net, how many times did the leafs collapse in the 3rd period despite being clearly the best team periods 1 and 2? I feel like the finally have the confidence to win, and I feel like that confidence starts from the net out. if I was a more regular poster I'd be the kind of guy to start a post to this end.

I haven't seen the last two games, so I'll have to take other people's words for it. But, Boyce/the 4th line was on the ice for 2 even strength goals so far in that span. And that's quickly catching up to the 3 even strength goals Dupuis was on the ice for in his 30 games.
