Leafs are back to giving up a sure goal when they take a penalty. Can't win games if you're afraid of getting a penalty. Just brutal. 5 on 5 play has been decent, should be in the game if they had any sort of success on PK.

Blah two stupid penalties and now we are down by two. We've played hard, but stupid so far. Reimer looks flat too.

Oh well, at least this team never seems to quit. Let's pop one early in the 3rd and go from there.

He body checked a guy.  Perfectly clean.  That was it.

The guy passed it across the ice and was a little off balance and Crabb smoked him.  Nothing more, happens all the time.

I was actually quite pleased when I saw the hit the. Saw a penalty and could not believe it was THAT.

Like I said, on the whole, I've been very pleased with Crabb's work.  Already down a man, though, you can't make that hit, when the puck had left the area.  It's just not the right time.

In fairness, I also agree that Armstrong's penalty before that wasn't a good one either.

I think the 3rd is a bit of a benchmark for this team: can Reimer not give up a backbreaker?  And can they fight back and tie it?

After that little diatribe about the Rutherford 'what was I thinking signing Kabs' moment, can we start the 'Burke is a thief' thread or some such?

Maybe I'm just counting Chiarelli out, dunno.

Just got home and caught the last 5 mins of the 2nd. Don't know how the game has went. Haven't read no posts but just love how the refs can decide a game. Boarding call on Crabb was a joke and what gets me is when these refs make these stupid calls when teams are down a man already. Boarding? Did the Cap player even make contact with the boards. The league has turned into a joke. Nonetheless PK looks as good as ever. If we miss the playoffs again this year it will be the PK again as to why. Hopefully the boys can tie it up in the 3rd.

Burke got a great return but I wouldn't write Kaberle off yet either.  Granted, he deserves the potshots he's been getting.

Wow, just looked at the shots from the 2nd period, which ended 12-12 after the Leafs had a 12-4 edge.
