Phaneuf really avoids taking shots on the PP.  I don't understand.

Seems to be an issue with all the D, not getting in one-time positions so lanes are blocked off before shot can be taken.  Or that's my theory which is why I've wanted Phaneuf/Franson switched on the PP.

I just don't want them on the ice together period.  Put Gardiner on the 1st PP unit and Franson on the 2nd.

Well, it hasn't helped that, in those previous 5 games, they had all of four 3rd period PPs. The first unit had scored PPGs in each of the previous 3 games, though - not in the 3rd period, granted, but they did still produce.
