It does sound like a lot but I wonder if this isn't a sign that GMs maybe don't think much of this draft given the limited info they have.

Only the 1st from the Ristolainen deal is in this years draft.

The other 3 are from future drafts.

2023 2nd in the Ristolainen deal, 2022 2nd and 7th in the Gostisbehere deal.

Ah. My comment was really only about this trade, where the #14 pick seems to be the big piece, and not about other moves.

While I get that Ristolainen is an RHD, and that automatically increases anyone's value, but...if that's what he's worth, you'd think Rielly would be worth at least the same right?

Would you trade Rielly for this kind of return?  I might.

Nah.

Obviously if Rielly comes out and asking 8 or 9 million plus you have to think about looking elsewhere but this return would do very little to help the team.
