12 wins, 13 loses at home.

That’s accurate, I mean in the absence of actual accuracy, but accurate.

Yep.

Interesting. I was going to say I thought the leafs were roughly even in the first, not so great in the 2nd and the 3rd was kinda hard to tell because the score was so far out of hand.  But I figure they win a game like that fairly often.

Willy and Engvall had a good game. Spezza looked good for stretches, liked Holl's game. Everyone else was meh, and I really disliked Barrie. Obviously the team didn't play as bad at Andersen's .818%
Agree. I did like Matthews' game for the most part. 7 shots on net for him and 7 for Marner. Would like to see Hyman off that line. Run Engvall or Johnsson there and put  Hyman on the JT line or Kerfoot's.

I kinda wish Mikheyev was still around.

Past 14 games Andersen's rocking an .888 save percentage. Still 7-2-3 in that span. Hutch ended up being the goalie of record on two losses though.

Folks, bad news: the Reddit NHL streams have been shut down.
https://www.reddit.com/r/NHLStreams/comments/epzc9r/important_rnhlstreams_is_shutting_down/

This has turned out to be a blessing in disguise as it happens

Why?

Cos I couldn’t get any streams to work so haven’t had to watch  :D
Bad for me as I am in AZ and no Leaf Tv here.  Hope some else will start posting the games.

Oof. He's been in slumps before where he comes out and it amazing afterwards but I don't recall a slump lasting this many games.  Hopefully the peak is as long as the valley here, we need Freddie to go on an amazing 15 game run after the break.

Didn't see the game, but from what I am reading, the difference in the Game was Freddie, if he had made a few stops then it may have been a different outcome or perhaps a point.
Just a few thoughts here,  we are playing without our two top Defensemen, some of our forwards are out or banged up, Johnsson is not playing up to pre injury.  Hyman has been not so great the last 2 or 3 games.

Good news is that Muzzin will be back after the break, this allows Marv to sit. Perhaps Liljegrin gets more of an opportunity and Sandin should continue to settle in.  Dermott will also have some pressure of him as well  with the return of Muzzin.  I have a big feeling of an impending trade for Georgiev.  With the emergance of Engvall and Souperman, I would think Johnsson would be a good trade chip, throw in Bracco and Barrie or Ceci if they will take him.   It's time to have a top quality Tandem which is becoming a new norm in the league.  As Anderson will be coming into the end of his contract and will be 32 we can then decide based upon what Georgiev shows that he is the one left unprotected for the Seattle draft.

Let's face it he will want a huge pay raise with term and at 32 not sure I want to go there.

Yes and no on Freddie. He wasn't saving their asses last night. Three goals were grade A clear to the net shots but Freddie would normally stop probably 2 of them. He's def struggling and maybe the pressure of not having a capable backup is adding to his?
We are missing our 2 best LD's and it's hurting us. Especially Muzz. I hope Marincin sits and Sandin keeps playing. Have my doubts though. I think Mikheyev being out is hurting us also. Leafs are 4-3-3 since he got hurt so still on the plus side but it messes up the lines. He could run on the JT line and Engvall on the Matthews. Hyman on the 3rd with Kerfoot/Kappy. A shutdown type of line if you will.
Speaking of Hyman. While he's had good point production and a good game here and there, has been struggling for a bit now. Plays are dying on his stick more frequently and it's hurting the Matthews line. Lke I said up above, I think he needs to be moved down the line up. I think Engvall can easily replace him on the #1 line and would probably produce more.

Agree that Johnsson(3.4) can be the sacrificial lamb here. I think if they can throw in CC(4.5) and maybe even Hyman(2.25) it will set them up nice with the cap moving forward. It's going to be interesting to see what Dubas does.

I think we need a Marchant type of player. someone who can bring it every game, as well who can score ,is tough and can get under the skin, and is go go go. this team is all skill and no grit. a very bad mix. Anderson will come around and so will our defense. A backup wouldn't hurt either.

Lack of "grit" isn't losing them games. Average goaltending from Andersen wins you games. The Leafs have outscored Freddie's problems for a month and have needed him to just keep them in it and he hasn't. Look at that first goal and tell me what grit could've done. Marchand is a gritty player but he is a skilled, productive player. That's what makes him valuable. And like I've said in the past, we are so inward looking. Bs have been in a funk too and are being chased by the Bolts. Who are they throwing under the bus right now? Marchand flubbed a shootout. Can't imagine he's too popular at the moment.
