You don't ever want to say no chance, but I'd say no chance.

I forgot to mention: congratulations to everyone who didn't know how to spell Puljujärvi or Chychrun and couldn't be bothered to learn it. Now you don't have to!

True. Now we just need everyone to get on board with how Matthews spells his first name.

Yes. Matthews is the favourite but there are scouts saying Laine is either right there with him or maybe even a little ahead.

It's a conversation the Leafs should be having and luckily, it's entirely their choice.

We figured out Rielly. Auston should be a minor inconvenience to learn at most.

Where have you been? :)

Had ball hockey. We scored a goal and the team who played before us was listening to the game in the parking lot and started celebrating, so we figured it out and everyone went crazy.

Who is Vatanen?

Sami Vatanen is an RFA RD with Anaheim. I think he's on the trade block because the Ducks can't really afford to pay him, and they have a lot of good D in the pipeline.

Thanks -- just saw the other thread.  People are already pencilling him in to our lineup, eh?

"Maybe Auston Matthews," he thought, "Doesn't come from a Store"
"Maybe Auston Matthews...perhaps...means a little bit more"
And what happened then? Well, in Leafland they say
That Nik's small heart grew three sizes that day.

Without wanting to blow smoke, this is a genuinely clever and funny post.

Last year watching the draft, I wanted to throw a brick at my TV. This year, I actually rewound and watched it over again. I must have really grown as a person or something.

More than 30 years since we last picked first overall. This just might be a bloody bigger deal than Jermain Defoe coming to the FC.

Man, it feels like everything Shanahan has touched has turned to gold.  Hope it continues!

No kidding, he's pretty much done everything right so far. Babcock must be salivating at the thought of Matthews in the lineup.

It feels weird to win something as a Leafs fan, but I could get used to the feeling. Very happy that we will have a #1 centre, a piece the team has been missing since the days of Sundin.
