I never really doubted that Doug Jones had a chance at usurping Moore. If anything would sway it in Jones' favour, it would have had to be the African-American votes.
Certainly there are many who are still in a somewhat state of disbelief at the results, that that was even possible after 25 years of Republicans representing the state. Jones and the Democrats should be proud that they pulled off a miracle.
By Moore being defeated, it sends a strong message that Moore types and any others tagged with sexual allegations will soon be an 'endangered species', and won't be (politically) tolerated in an election. At least, hopefully, this is a start.
