I heard this too. They are trying to top their Leino deal from last year.
In some ways this one would be better than that, but, in other ways, worse. I mean, Doan is a more proven, better and more consistent player than Leino. But, at the same time, this would be an even more significant overpayment and a 35+ contract. It would make them a little better on the ice, but, it would hurt them so much more in terms of the cap.
