Think I may stay up for this afterall. Are any radio stations covering the draft? I've not had any luck with tv streams in past years so going to try to catch it using the TuneIn app on my phone.

The following link is working for the preview show, if it doesn't also have the draft I'll post another one for you, just in case you want to watch.

Now saying "event has ended" so another link would be great please.

What do you guys think of this?

"RUMOUR: The Toronto Maple Leafs have Reportedly offered the Columbus Blue Jackets James Van Riemsdyk, a Prospect and the 31st & 72nd for their 3rd Pick.
(Source: NHL)"

Cripes...if we can drop the 31st, trade Bozak instead and take back a contract then do it.

Cheers guys. Will try the streams and if not listen in via TSN. I've got a very generously sized glass of Lagavulin to see me through.

Will be interesting to see how many games Reimer plays next season if he gets a starting gig.

Just been reading about Minnesota potentially looking to trade a/some young d-men for some offensive help. Anything that could be of interest to us plus for JVR? Also considering a buyout of Vanek if we could take that contract as an alternative...

I sort of agree that Yakupov could benefit from a change in scenery but I really don't know if I agree that Toronto would be the place for him to go. He's not someone you want to put into a top 6 role or give prime PP minutes and absent those things is he really going to be a solid bottom 6 contributor?

I think the scenario that fits him is in a lower pressure market on a team where he can get PP minutes and hopefully the things he can do a little will provide a need. New Jersey or Arizona seem like the spot. Maybe Columbus or Carolina.

I hear you, and those are valid points.  It just seems a worthwhile punt to see if we can work on him and his game.  I'd be much happier with a middle of the road prospect going there though given our situation with 50 contracts, but if it's the third alone that gets it done...

Will be well after midnight for me by the time the first pick is announced so no chance of staying up. Will have a cheeky peek at my phone in the night and hope to see thst we picked twice (as long as we keep first overall).

I'm another thst would take a punt on Yakupov for a third (or ideally middle of the road prospect).

Thoughts today are that I'm still fairly pleased but would have preferred if we could have signed him for 3-4 years and if one of the picks traded could have been a decent prospect instead (to get a contract off the books).

Very true that.

After Northern Ireland's win over the Ukraine (the highlight of my sporting supporting life so far) I've now booked myself on a flight to Paris on Tuesday morning and got my hands on a ticket for the Northern Ireland v Germany game in Parc Des Princes. I cannot wait to get over. My dad has been over for the whole tournament so far and says the atmosphere among our fans has been stunning.

A draw will qualify us for the next round as well. Even if we lose I am spot proud of the performances that got us there and the win against Ukraine. We've less than 50 professional players to choose from and could make it to the last 16 of Europe.

I reckon you're ok anyway.  Hoping as many of the home nations make it through as possible, although not looking good for the Republic.

Results haven't gone the way we'd have wanted, so I think we need a draw tonight. Sitting in Dublin airport now at the start of my voyage. Cannot wait for the game and possibly even more the party in Paris before and after the game!

Good luck for later.  I might catch the second half depending when I get home from work.  Hope Will Grigg's on fire!

Poor display all round from us last night - this is where not having an Andros Townsend in the squad to come on and help unlock a defence really hinders us.  Henderson was a total waste of space last night and Wilshere looked like a player that only played a couple of games all season.  No point having all that possession when Slovakia were happy to let us have it and put bodies behind the ball.  We only really had a couple of decent chances for all that.

I read a comment from his agent saying he is still going to free agency in August and all this does is change the team that has his exclusive negotiating rights.
