If the Leafs did agree a trade (presumably with JVR plus and taking back one or two bad contracts) then could Jones still be offer sheeted by another team before agreeing a deal with the Leafs? If so I guess any trade would be made only after a window to negotiate a new contract beforehand is agreed.

Enjoy Prague, I love that place! As for the England's game tomorrow, they should win but they won't be beat France in the next round.

They haven't played at all so far, disappointed with Roy's men.

I've not been impressed for a number of years.  He's a pretty negative manager.  The qualifying campaign (in an easy group) papered over many cracks.

You can guarantee the neutrals will be right behind Iceland tonight ans screaming for every decision - France will want to play them more than us.  And I bet we get a good booing post-Brexit.  This game has upset written all over it...

Oof. Tough late one for Northern Ireland to give up.

I feel bad for Arn, but it's been tough to watch, a fitting punishment for making us sit through this, especially that first half.

It wasn't a great game, but I thought overall we were the better team, but they took their chance and we couldn't quite create any really clear cut ones (also though the 2nd half was a decent watch).

But still, for our first tournament appearance in 30 years (and first in my memory) I'm pretty pleased with most of it. We're having a small parade when the team get back to Belfast tomorrow which I think will be amazing.

Actually can't wait for the World Cup qualifiers to start in September now, with a trip to Prague as well.

Unlucky - a great block to build on though.  It's been really good to see how they home nations have performed - I've genuinely felt as much tension when watching those games as the England ones.

If Reimer can't land a #1 job I wonder if there's any chance we let Bernier go and use the money to sign Reimer at around $3m??
2 good goalies for $8m total salary isn't too bad.

Probably too expensive as we'd presumably need to retain some of Bernier's salary. Unless the team can recoup a decent asset then may as well keep Bernier for now.

After Calgary also prefered to make a trade than attempt to sign Reimer are there any teams that need a starting goalie still?

I'd like to trade up or acquire another second. Not sure how realistic the latter is though.

Thanks for the updates and the links to the feeds tonight guys. I've been up for 23 hours straight (it's been quite a day!) so it's time to hit the sack. Looking forward to seeing how tomorrow's picks pan out.

Babcock just told us Matthews will start the season as 3rd Centre behind Kadri & Bozak. And points out that Nylander will be on the wing.

Shouldn't he earn his place first?

I'll be rooting for Yost, that's a cool little story, I was a little emotional there.

Yeah - I like the guy and what his mother did for her children after hearing that.

Ottawa trade up one spot to 11 for a third. They must want someone real bad.

JVR, Bernier 50% retained salary, Prospect, #31 to Calgary for the chance to pick Tkachuk?

Not for me thanks. Maybe without the 31st though...
