Marlies & Prospect Talk / Re: Tyler Biggs

You know, for fun, check out the post directly above Anton's.

He was a fan favourite for Kalamazoo in the ECHL with a physical style of play & scored 20 or so goals too. I’m sure he’ll do well over here, although I did laugh when I read Panthers had signed him.

I long suspected that was the reason. His and Tocchet's description of what happened in the video room really hit home. For those that are fortunate to have never had depression, it was such a clear description of what some of us have experienced. I've been where he was. You can be so strong -- physically and mentally -- but eventually you just wear out; you break. Eventually, you just can't go on. If you're lucky, you've got supports around you, like he did. Not everyone's so lucky.

I suffered from it for several years due to my wife’s (two) miscarriages & losing both my parents within 16 months; I think your description of being burned out is pretty much spot on regarding how I felt at work. I was, and still am in all honesty, commuting over an hours to work but I was simply exhausted from everything & mentally I was all over the place.

I’ve never warmed to Bozak for some reason, it was nothing personal but he was just someone on the roster, but his goodbye as posted above did move me somewhat. Good luck to him in St Louis.

Naslund would’ve be pretty sweet, but I still think the Leafs did well out of the NJ deal.

Another former Leaf legend, Jay Rosehill, is also playing in the EIHL with Manchester.

He's recently been banned for a game though.

The video footage shows Rosehill in possession and control of the puck as he skates towards the attacking zone corner boards.

With possession of the puck, Rosehill knows that he runs the risk of being body checked.  The opposing player did deliver a body check considered routine and legal.

The actions of Rosehill after receiving a legal body check are unacceptable and no part of hockey.

As a result, the incident was raised to supplementary discipline.

Considering the score is 9-2 at the time, Rosehill took it upon himself to think he is something bigger than the game, in combination with the score and the fact he did not accept or want to accept a legal body check.

This is not considered a fight. It is considered a pointless action with no need or outcome that helps the game.

Pulling an opposing player down, getting up and pushing the opposing player down with his left hand to land a punch with his right to a non-willing and defenceless player and following it up with a headlock tackle is all considered to be gutless and disrespectful to the game.

Rosehill needs to control his emotions.

If he feels the score is a determining factor to lead to such actions (sometimes known as ‘sending a message’), Rosehill needs to learn to control his emotions and refrain from “old school” tactics in the modern-day game.

Having such physical actions on a non-willing opposing player, is not and will never be considered a fight.

Due to this reason, Jay Rosehill must do a better job of refraining from such actions.

Quite the statement from the league's new Player Safety department.

You can watch the incident here:

Quite the telling off in all honesty; DOPS have come along way in such a short period of time.

Thankfully this incident saw the end of DOPS in it’s present form!!

Trade block/part of a package?

That’s what concerns me with Andersen; over working him.

This has all the makings of a trap game - team on a winning streak, destroyed last opponent on the scoreboard, last place team in the league . . .

I reckon we win. And win well.

Andre Deveaux recently signed to play this season in the EIHL (UK) with Sheffield.

Can they do 7?

Go Leafs Go!!!

I’d say that seven is doable. Need to hit the floor running and not take them lightly. Matthews is likely to be pumped up for this one.

Slowly coming back to respectability. The team needs him to be better & more consistent, which is easily achievable by the way.

So he finally admitted to fluffing the call. Only 23 years too late. Still, the Leafs dug themselves into a hole in that series & Felix wasn't as sharp as he'd been. I wonder if Toronto would have been Montreal in the finals...

Without question. Dougie and Wendel would have dragged everyone else along.

Maybe, but the showing from Roy that year was pretty phenomenal for the Habs.

I don't mind this trade at all.  I didn't see anything in Harrington's game that was overly impressive, he always seemed to be about a half step behind the pace and I think it is pretty clear that Babcock didnt feel like he would be able to play in our top 6 or 8 even.
Lets give Rychel a try.  Hopefully his hands are better then his dads were (with the stick and puck anyway).

Arh the year we had Rychel, Domi & Baumgartner...
