There it is.
Who is this? Is this good?

Probably the top free agent position player that was on the market this off season.

A little more concrete now...

Maybe I was underestimating his speed from last year, but Mikheyev seems faster to me.

Underestimating.

Mikheyev is awesome. People will eventually listen to me.  ;D

Maybe if you brought a compete level like herman does in boosting Nylander

It is frustrating that they could only turn that domination into a 1 goal lead.

Main Leafs Hockey Talk / Re: Dell and Spezza placed on waivers
« on: January 18, 2021, 03:08:51 PM »
Dell could have tried the same thing but the team claiming him could say ok, go ahead and retire.  Dell would then be out of the NHL for at least a year because once you go on the Voluntarily Retired List, you can't come back for a year unless all teams says it's ok. Teams knew Spezza would just flat out retire and he also carries a lot more respect then a guy like Dell would.

Also, Dell might have welcomed getting claimed because he would have a better chance of getting if it happened.

Dell to NJ, Spezza clears.

cc every other team in the league. Hands off.
Teams know this and if Spezza retires, that team will be on the hook for 700K and no player. I also think there is a respect aspect that teams won't take him, much like Perry in Mtl.

If Spezza were to retire after being claimed, the claiming team wouldn't be on the hook for anything. The 35+ rule only applies to the 2nd year or later of multi-year deals. Still a pointless claim, though.

A defensive team could get an automatic whistle with hand passes if they were illegal. Would essentially be like a delay of game.

Yeah that's why it only applies to if the hand pass both starts and ends in the defensive zone. If you receieve a hand pass in the neutral zone that orignates from your defensive zone, its blown dead too.

Also don't we have limited options in terms of personnel changes due to the cap/trying to keep Dell on the taxi squad?

Right now there isn't cap room to add another player to the active roster and Barabanov is the only one who can be sent to the taxi squad without waivers.

I wonder if we'll see him sent down today for cap accumulation purposes, I was thinking they would go down to 20 on off days.

I'd also say though Apple TV doesn't exactly have a ton of great content, at least right now. Ted Lasso is definitely a hit (although I haven't watched it, I plan to) and I liked their Dickenson show (maybe not for everyone though). When I was going through their other stuff the other day nothing really jumped out at me.

Seems like there's a lot of stuff with big names attached currently being produced though.

Sesaon 2 of Dickinson started, the first 3 came out today.

Wasserman's pretty good on these things.

NYT have been pretty confident of this for the last couple hours too.
