We`ve had some issues this summer. First, we had a database corruption. We have permanently lost 5000 members and hundreds of thousands of posts. Nothing makes me sadder than losing that. On top of that we had to upgrade to a more secure version of our forum software (SMF 2.0) and our old theme is not compatible with the new version.
So, we`re using a new database. This means that if you were previously a member of our forums, and your login doesn`t work any longer, you`ll have to create a new new login and profile. Feel free to choose your old username if you wish. We`ll quickly approve your account and we`ll be glad to see you back posting. Same goes for new members - sign up and we`d love to see you interacting with our regulars!
We`re sorry for the inconvenience, but we`re back in business!

I feel your pain about losing the content, but I think the culture, wisdom personality here will take care of filling up the new space. Change is hard, but as the Worlds best fans, we'll get through this together...
Again, welcome back Rick...
-
*sob* I want my 9985 post count back :``````-(
oh well.
I'm just glad that 1. Rick's back and 2. this place is more or less back to 'normal'
Does that mean I'm not the BearyBestLeafFan anymore?

You think that's bad... I had like 14700 + (not all winners I know) but that's less than 300 from being a HOFer! Oh well, what's another 4/5 years? :-\ Anyway, I'll trade 'em all any day just to be here. 8)
-
while that's all a bummer.... I'm just glad we are alive again
-
I'm glad this place and all of you are back. With the possible exception of NHL Center Ice :D, this forum is the best thing out there for helping me continue to be a devoted Leaf fan from way out here.
Thanks.
-
Very good to see things back up and running...especially Rick!
New site, new season and new cup hopes!
-
Glad to see you back Rick, hope you're feeling better.
I think I'll miss my 'why so serious' post but I don't mind a fresh start in general.
Thanks for all the effort!

+1
Just look at it as a rebuilding year......lots of fresh talent and hope for the future.

That's ok, the last few years have sucked for the Leafs, perhaps wiping out all the old history and starting fresh is the way to go! This is the year boys!!
-
just glad we back up. Can we lose the temporay on all the new posts?

I've noticed its been dropped from some threads already, so its probably being taken care of when time permits.

Good to see everything back. I think the forum is looking well, and perhaps a fresh new forum is a nice place to start a nice fresh new future for the Leafs. (We can but hope!)

All the 'temporary' tags should have been removed back now. You'll only notice them when someone quotes a post in a thread from when they were still there.

While not ideal this change allows us flexibility to implement somethings we have talked about in the past (connecting frontpage to boards database for example).
Best thing everyone can do is tell your friends to get signed back up and posting, to help us get the place buzzing again.

Is anybody else getting logged out every few minutes automatically? I have to log on every time I come back, even check marking the keep logged on box. Is this me, or are others experiencing this?
-
Not happening to me. I used Chrome for my browser what are you using?
-
I was logged out when I came online tonight but it hasn't logged me out again on Google Chrome.

Actually Darryl, this is how I have to quote also, as when I push quote, it endlessly says it's loading and never completes that load.
I use Firefox all the time and these problems never happen. I'm sure you notice that I'm signed in almost all the time.
Also, when I go to post my script, it tells me that "your session timed out while posting. Please try to re-submit your message". That hasn't ever happened either, so this is why I thought that something was a muck.
Any help is appreciated

Yes, happened to me a couple times. Using Chrome.

This actually JUST happened to me for the first time. Using Chrome.

I've been ok with Chrome. I tried IE and after I login, I can't see the quote/reply buttons in a thread.
A couple of times when I've gone to post, very shortly after going into a thread, I've got this message:
The following error or errors occurred while posting this message:
Your session timed out while posting. Please try to re-submit your message.
-
That's what I'm getting cw... and what I've explained above.
-
Just headed to bed. But I disabled one site feature to see if it solved the issue. Please let me know if you notice a change.
Thanks

That worked, whatever you did. Thanks Darryl.

Yeah, I'm using Google Chrome too and whenever I flip back to the main discussion page, I get logged-out. :-\
-
Are you still having that problem since the adjustment I made last night floyd?

Are you still having that problem since the adjustment I made last night floyd?
Yes... Though while it shows me logged-out, a simple page back still shows me logged-in... Which makes believe that I'm not really logged out though its still asking me to log in on the main discussion page. - I hope you followed that. :-\
-
I've had that problem since forever Floyd. I found that if I logged in at the forums home (rather than the actual site front page) and bookmarked *that*, it keeps me logged in forever (as I asked). If I return to the site via that bookmark (I'm on Safari, and that bookmark is the first one in my block of 9 top sites), I'm logged in and good to go. If I just type 'tmlfans.ca' in the address line, it takes me to the site home page and I'm not logged in. If I click an external link to the site, I come in and I'm not logged on. I try to always use my 'topsites' link to get here. (Same with Facebook, my bears site and my weight watchers pages too)

Okay, thanks LHF.
-
A couple of days ago the 'logout' button disappeared.
I'm on Chrome.

So, uh, who changed my forum avatar to Bob Marley, anyway...?

Okay, that's weird, I just noticed it's only on my Tapatalk profile, but not in the regular online forum...

It's probably one of the default icons from the Tapatalk app itself. Check the options around the app to see if you notice anything.
