Foligno on why he took on Perry after the hit. "Our captain is laying on the ice. They would have done the same if (it was) their captain. (The hit) wasn't malicious. (The fight) takes away any grey (area). Perry's a big boy. It just allows everyone to go back and play."— Lance Hornby πΊπ¦ (@sunhornby) May 21, 2021Sort of sound reasoning, in a weird way.

John Tavares is "conscious and communicating well," according to Sheldon Keefe. He'll spend the night in hospital for further testing but encouraging news so far.— Chris Johnston (@reporterchris) May 21, 2021

Stunning levels of incompetence from any team, let alone one with the skill on this roster.— Alec Brownscombe (@MapleLeafsHS) May 21, 2021I don't want to pin this all on Malhotra and I don't like the idea of constantly changing assistant coaches every year, but if this does end up costing us a playoff series win this early I'm not sure how you don't cut bait there. It just can't be that bad, it can't. If the Leafs give up as much as they get on the PP someone needs to be held accountable and I can't see it as a personnel problem.Malholtra will be fired if the PP doesnβt come alive in the playoffs.

We need Foligno on the ice.

What's Simmonds supposed to do...jump over the boards?

Different goalie, same result. Campbell played very well ... but was 0/2 on breakaways. Good, but not good enough.
Whether or not he was at fault, Sandin was on for both goals. We might see Dermott back in.OTOH the PP looks like it has no chance if Rielly is QBing it. And Rielly was at his best tonight.
