Matthews now has as many points as the vastly superior offensive talent of Patrick Laine.

In 3 fewer games too. PL with no points yet tonight.

Matthews has gotten better as the season has gone on. Not just in generating points - his whole game is approaching elite. I'm confident the Leafs made the right pick.

Fun fact: our PK has allowed only two goals in the last 5 games (24 opportunities); both against Anaheim in that first game of the last 5.

And also in Matthews favour: Scheifele/Ehlers substantially > Brown/Hyman, no?

Laine will be a great goalscoring winger/finisher but Matthews drives the offense on his own. I think Laine needs to play with great players to set him up for those one timers while Matthews can generate offense playing with rookies. Totally different players and I'm so glad the Leafs have Auston.

I'll let you do the work.

Starter or backup, how many goals were allowed this road trip?

How many shots allowed with Bibeau in net?

Er, 4 road wins in a row is nice but there's still too many holes, way too many, on defense for me to think that this team can get to the playoffs.  That, and we've been really lucky so far in terms of injuries (as opposed to our opponent tonight).

Gosh. It's not like those questions were cherry picked. You've convinced me for definite.
