Lots of people here dislike Hughson (strongly) but I thought he was OK.  His sidekick?  Not so much.

Good time to get some diversity up in the booth.  Someone mentioned this Singh fellow.  I've only seen him a couple of times on broadcasts, briefly.  Is he good?

OK, that was simply ridiculous.

R  we going to be able  to watch this anywhere?

Probably via the Leafs app.

Morgan Rielly left the unofficial Leafs scrim yesterday after taking a shot off the foot. Justin Holl left today's for an unremarked reason with a trainer. We can't have nice things.

But this is nice:
Leg kick tell to sell the shot

Nice.

Now do it in April, May, June.

Okay who said Beetlejuice

Well at least Auston is done with his mustache-only look.  Now he's transitioning to Jack Nicholson in The Shining.

Mikheyev wants a trade?  Maybe he'd better focus his energies on converting one or two of some of those high-danger chances he gets.

Logical fans - oh good, everyone will be vaccinated
Twitter fans - I guess Nylander's getting traded

I'm mostly seeing jabs that they're going to finally experience the second round of something.

That's brutal — but brilliant.

As one of Marchment's biggest boosters here when he was still a project: this is fine. Malgin was replacement level and basically helped the team tread water when mired in injuries. Would've been nice to see more pop, but he wasn't a net negative. In that same situation, Marchment would have been a liability. He is also older and was quite literally free.

So we upcycled a red paper clip into a stapler, falling well short of a jet ski (which was never going to be the proper expectation). No one is printing much on paper now, so staplers are not something worth spending on.

The process is fine and you just keep doing this until something happens to really fit the team at that time of need (see Trevor Moore --> Jack Campbell).

See, as I said many years ago, this is the basic problem with the Leafs: always looking to buy a jet ski, when what we really need is a furnace.

4-year deal for Denis Malgin with the Zurich Lions, taking him off the Leafs roster/pipeline

Thanks for ruining my Labor Day.  Another asset gone for zzzzzzilch.  >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( :o

Came across this:

https://www.nytimes.com/2021/08/20/theater/islander-play-hockey-masculinity.html

It revolves around hockey as "dignity culture" and the betrayal of the Islanders by guess who.  I couldn't quite follow what they are up to.

Please fix Marner

Desmond Howard is my all-time fave.  He'll never be dethroned because I don't follow college football any more.

Good luck in the interview Herman.

 :)

It would be great to have One Of Our Own snag that gig.

Ads on jerseys was inevitable, but still effin’ gross.

Sure is.  But hey, I'm a suckerloser and greed is good, right?

He's had shoulder problems, now wrist problems.  I hope his career doesn't get curtailed or even derailed by successive injuries.

He couldn't have gotten it done earlier in the summer?
Nevermind.  Just read the actual article, and that.

(Looks at calendar)

Glad they corrected this but we are in the year 2021 ... they didn't think to check a candidate's socials?  What kind of org is that?
