Also, every time the Oilers have beaten the Jets in the playoffs, they've made it to the final. One of these streaks is likely to be broken.

I don't like that one as much.

The first time we had streaming hockey in the UK was on the ESPN Player. It was pretty much exclusively set up for NHL hockey over here as far as I’m aware. That service still exists but really only seems to show the espn documentaries and some college sports.

I wonder if that’s where they’ll go with streaming here again or if NHL TV will continue to exists for overseas streaming rights.

Maybe: "International rights in Latin America, the Caribbean and parts of Europe are also part of the deal, as are extensive highlight rights for ESPN's digital platforms."

I don't know that you're inserting Nash to score goals. I think you're inserting him to truly be a shutdown centre. Which allows you to free up Matthews from playing against the other team's top lines. That's my thoughts anyways.

I think Kerfoot - Nash - Hyman is a fantastic shutdown line.

Sure, I get that, but he's yet to play a game, I don't share in the enthusiasm.

I'd rather go into the playoffs with the guys that got us there, Galchy, Mikheyev, Kerfoot, etc.

Also, in the most recent playoffs the Leafs had a problem scoring goals not preventing them. I'm sure I want to lose any of that. Hyman - Kerfoot - Mikheyev could put some points on the board.

With all due respect, I don't understand inserting Riley Nash into the lineup. He's yet to play a game for the Leafs and he's averaged 3.3 goals over the last 3 seasons. He seems like a great fallback plan if there are injuries, but I see him more like the Marincin of the forward group, a guy waiting in the wings.

Made some big saves in the dying seconds. Man the Marlies D reminds me of the Leafs in the past sometimes. Giveaway machines in their own end lol.

And a fair point. Will have to wait and see what he looks like back on the big club.

I'm about as big of a Freddie supporter out there, but, let's just say I'm having doubts.

Great job NHL.

I just don’t get the refs.  In a game like this you let Mantha skate around chasing a guy to slash him multiple times.  The refs seem to love doing game your job

I don't understand how a straight arm to the chops(it was a fist to the chin, not a cross check to the face) is more suspendable than a DDT/head punch to the back of the head/Body slam onto the ice is.

The NHL needs to figure out what is acceptable or not in their league. As you point out, things don't align.

IMO, the action toward a player that is completely defenseless is more egregious.

How do they not go for the line brawl there? Missed opportunity

These rumours/allegations have plagued him for years.

This is from 2009:

Not sure if the current allegations are anything different but when you're hiring people...

So, whatever happened to Joey Anderson?  Did we essentially trade Johnsson for nothing?

He's been one of the Marlies' best forwards this season. I'm pretty sure that's exactly what the organization expected of him this season.

So is the thinking he'll slot in next season?
If he's ready, and not taken by Seattle, yes.

I thought we agreed Seattle is taking Kerfoot?

If it's not too late to arrange, I'd like a Leaf game tonight, please and thank you.

I agree.

Actually, we've administered an ass-kicking here, both on the scoreboard and on the ice.

Yes, this.

Anyone have any thoughts on swapping Bichette and Semien positions?

And move Vladdy to third.

Really hope the league takes into consideration that Edler was tired at the end of that shift and goes easy on him.

This was mostly a joke... but they literally did... "instead fatigued after a long shift Edler only adjusts his right leg..."

I was once acquitted of murder because I only got 4 hours of sleep the night before.

These things matter.

I was hoping for these lines to start the playoffs:

Nylander - Matthews - Marner
Foligno - Tavares - Hyman

I hope Hyman is ok.
