I have a general question. If it has been discussed somewhere else then I apologize in advance.

Are teams restricted from making a trade during the off week? If the Leafs made a trade now and it involved a player who was away in the Caribbean for a week, what would his obligation be? What if the player continued with his week off and then the team he was traded to had their off week 2 weeks from now?

That is more than one question, but I suppose you get the point.

This article updates on the ratings situation between FAN590 and TSN1050. I am surprised that The FAN still lead in both the morning and afternoon ratings. The article does not touch on it, but perhaps that is due to the fact that their signal is much better and reaches a much wider area. I listen to TSN1050 via streaming on the iHeart app on my drive home because the signal for the radio is garbage north of Toronto.

It looks very much like the players have tuned out the coach and might even be riding things out until he is out. Not sure. It looks dreadful.

I think they should hold off until the start of the game. Left the captain do the pre-game skate with the A and the. As they announce the players...

If it is JT they could announce Barrie (93) and the the last player would be JT and announce him as the captain. Big pop from the crowd and good energy to start the game. And it avoids a silly press conference.

I am not sure that suggesting someone does not know how a business runs profitably is furthering the discussion.

The point is that the Leafs do everything in a world class type of way. Sadly, the majority of their games on TV (the ones on SportsNet) are anything but world class. In fact they are awful.

Sometimes I watch the opposite team feed to avoid it, but overall, no.  Your point? That they have no need to improve because we will always watch anyway?

Do they have no say at all in the SportsNet on air package? I like TSN a lot. Miller and Ferraro are great. HNIC is reasonable as well. But SN is just awful. I listened to the entire police interview with the woman. Although I still think we need to give Matthews a chance to respond in the normal course of this process, my perspective has changed a fair bit:

1. My opinion about the woman has shifted a bit since I can now hear her in her own words and gain a lot more of the subtleties of what was going on. It appears that what really riled her up was the fact that Auston's dad said it did not happen. It seems that she is motivated much more by someone calling her a liar than anything else.

2. Auston's parents knew. Not only did a sober Auston not come clean with the Leafs, but his parents did not advise him to come clean. Telling the Leafs the next morning could very likely have resulted in this all going away without a charge. We will never know. But regardless, drunken immaturity is one thing. The cold light of day immaturity is another.
