Same here, as pricey as Foligno was he serves the team's needs better IMO.

Because we always overpay (Boston never does) and so we can't afford both.

Also, quit posting here and get that GDT up!  You need to display a Foligno-like dedication to task.    ;)
I think if we did double retention could've done it

For a second I began to wonder if Hall was now the leader in terms of how many teams a Hart trophy winner had played for because I stupidly forgot Jagr but I think this ties him for second with Pronger and Hull(and probably someone else) at 5.

Which means, considering he's not even 30, that Jagr's record could be in some jeopardy.

Also ties him with Theodore and Jacques Plante. Outside of that, 4 seems to be a pretty common number, for whatever reason.

I suspect we're going to see a few of these first game with new team against their former team type deals.

So do we think Foligno's versatility and intangibles helps vs. Hall? I'm guessing the die was cast when they got Galch. I don't think they can play him in the bottom 6 and you're left with not great grindy options, especially if someone goes down.

I think that's part of it, yeah. The Leafs don't really need a significant upgrade to their offence on the top 2 lines. It's already excellent. But defensive responsibility, physical presence, the penalty kill, etc. were areas that needed to a boost

Yes. Foligno fits the team better then Hall does. Galchenyuk will probably stay with M&M and I can see Foligno playing with Tavares and Nylander.
