From PPP:  Speaking of the Goat, here is a list of all the former Leafs (who played games for the team) still out there on the market. Frederik Gauthier, Ron Hainsey, Brian Boyle, Michael Grabner, Matt Martin, Matt Hunwick, Garret Sparks, Nick Shore, Pontus Aberg, Kevin Gravel, T.J. Brennan, and Rinat Valiev.

Matt Martin for 700k would be decent. Aberg is in the KHL. The rest are AHL bound or retirement

Leafs have enough better options in a similar role. Honestly, it's not surprising all of these guys haven't found teams. They're all borderline guys (at best), and just about every team will have younger guys that can contribute similarly but also still have some upside.
