Thanks Nik...so bench player until he can usurp?

Well, it'll be interesting to see how they fill the line-up with Siakam out to start the year. They could go Dragic-VanVleet-Anunoby-Boucher-Birch or something or they could go smaller and start Anunoby and Barnes to begin things.

Thanks again Nik...what does it mean to "go small"?

Is Scottie Barnes projected to make the Raptors out of camp?

I think it would be very surprising if he didn't.

Rielly-Dermott

I guess they're not planning on scoring goals tonight.

Of course now that I say this Trudeau has called a last minute press conference tonight so knowing my record with predictions he'll probably resign.

edit: Nope, just China stuff.
Oh look, Spavor and Korvig are coming home. Guess Liberal haters are going to have to find some other talking point to complain about.

I didn't realize their release over 1000 days later absolved the sitting government of any criticism.

Can Trudeau run again?  I thought there was a three term rule?  No?

There are no term limits for Canadian PM.

No mention of Steeves there?

Injured first game, didn't play again. So probably just not much to say there.

Oh...I guess that's a good reason then.

So we heard coming in that the PPC was going to split the conservative vote. Now that it's all said in done, do we think it really effected the outcome?

Popular vote:

CPC - 5.43m
LIB - 5.16m
NDP - 2.83m
BQ - 1.24m
PPC - 814K
GRN - 371K

So I'd say not much on the overall voting side, but they beat the Greens.

The Green Party was irrelevant in this election.

Robertson with a good NZ steal (after his own sort of giveaway), to feed Steeves for the opening tally

Robertson's still doing his OHL style toe-drag moves...those kinds of moves will get his clock cleaned in the NHL, and likely benched if he were to try that stuff.

His skating posture has improved though. Dynamic without being at risk of skating his face through farts.

I'm glad to hear that.

But that hot dog crap will not impress the doctor...the comments from Dr. Wickenheiser were telling him to slow things down and let the play catch up to him.  What he did was try low percentage "try deke out the whole defense to get a better shot" that would result in him getting blown up with AHL or NHL d-men.

I was hoping that he'd display more maturity in his game...a more pro-style game.

People are higher on Bunting than I am...I hope I'm wrong.

I have a pretty good sense of who you don't care for, but who are you high on (of the grab bag of UFA wingers and bottom pairing defensemen)?

I'm hopeful that Ritchie can be Hyman.  I'm hopeful that Kerfoot can effectively rotate in to play LW in the top 6 because I'm skeptical that Bunting is good to go there.  Mikheyev might have to rotate in there as well if Bunting can't play at Tavares/Matthews/Nylander/Marner game and mind speed.

I think Engvall is 4C in that case, and Kampf 3C.  I'm hopeful that Robertson tears up the AHL early and often and forces the Leafs' hand to give them more LW scoring threat.

I'm hopeful that Liljegren has a great camp and can play effectively in 3rd pairing situations with different partners because I'm not crazy about Dermott playing the right side.  I hope TJ can repeat last season, and that Muzzin can remain healthy.  I think Rielly has something to play for this season which might help motivate him.

I'm not really high on anyone in particular, but I remain optimistic.

Holl sucks.
