One slightly used Ritchie?

Wtf

Edit: this was to facilitate (or correct?) his Halloween costume. The team had a party earlier in the week and the costumes were food themed. Brodie went as the king of Flavortown, Guy Fieri.

It’s hard to draw hard conclusions from the first 10 games of the season, maybe especially this one, because players are still in preseason mode. The only things I’m willing to conclude so far: Nylander is amazing, Ritchie sucks, and Montreal will miss the playoffs.

His one assist was a secondary when he was on the bench (thanks, Willy)

If anyone else did that at their place of employment that required prof of vaccination this would lead to an immediate dismissal. I think the nhl is being way too lenient.

You'd think but unions can be very powerful in this regard.

If the precise situation wasn't spelled out in the CBA, and the team doesn't want to pursue the more arduous and general SPC-contravention argument, then basically it's a no-go.

He tried to block a puck over glass penalty and Anaheim scored on the ensuing interference penalty. I’m pretty impressed with the hand eye coordination fully extended with terrible sight lines to the puck.

This was his previous knee injury last season: https://www.sportsnet.ca/nhl/article/maple-leafs-place-nick-robertson-long-term-injured-reserve/

The current knee injury is a similar situation where there was a hit along the boards and the fall was very awkward as his skate got caught and he fell backward over it. I don't know that I'd call it injury prone, but there were Marlies' injuries also from wear and tear and coming back too hard too fast (as is his wont) from earlier minor injuries. This isn't Carlo Coliacovo boneitis, but I do think some guidance on strengthening critical support structures, improving soft tissue flexibility, and hit absorption techniques will help extend his career.
