Wasn't Philly eligible? Otherwise what's the point of having him at camp?

Nope. No teams were eligible to sign him this summer. As usual, the Flyers misinterpreted a section of the CBA.

Quote"We misunderstood somewhere there when we were talking to the league," assistant general manager Barry Hanrahan said. "He came up into the system as a Canadian junior hockey player – which he is.

"We can't sign him because of [Section] 8.9 in the CBA. He played in Europe last year. It's not where you are currently playing, it's where you played the previous year.

"We were speaking with the league on whether he was a draft-related unrestricted free agent. Had he played in North America last year, he would have been unrestricted."

That's hilarious.

10 games for Shelley (5 pre-season and 5 regular). Nice to see Shanny is taking more of a hardline stance than Campbell did.

Nice - hopefully some of these guys get the message.
There's valid reasons for the limited interest. Get out of your basement if you dare. The real world will bend you over.

Not quite as funny as Pronger but yeah, funny.

Dupuis and Boyce both looked pretty good tonight. Don't know who I'd rather have. Although I think I'd rather get rid of Orr and maybe go with Boyce - Dupuis - Brown

Absolutely.   and Kadri looked good last night...Bozak and Armstrong looked good tonight.  Caputi was 2nd lowest in minutes tonight, 2nd only to Rosehill who actually spent OVER a period of minutes in the box tonight.  Not a good sign for Caputi.

Sooo...does that make the forward lines:

Lupul / Connolly / Kessel

Kulemin / Grabovski / MacArthur

Kadri / Bozak / Armstrong

Boyce / Dupuis / Brown

Orr / Rosehill

??

Looks good to me. If there's a chance our guys might get cheap shotted, put in Rosehill. Looks like he's learned to clobber opponents, and his play isn't boneheaded either.

I think we've seen goons get long suspensions before, I think I'll wait and see what happens when someone who matters requires
a suspension.
